Finding gifts for people who travel is no easy task! I always struggle to find presents for my traveler friends, and as an avid traveler myself, my family and friends are always struggling to figure out what to get for me.
Previously, I had two separate articles, one focused on travel gifts for men and the other focused on travel gifts for women. However, I decided to combine the two and create one ultimate guide to the best gift ideas for both him and her (and I don't use the phrase “ultimate guide” lightly)!
With a combined total of 61 gift ideas, I'm sure you'll find a gift idea for whomever you're looking.
I am the ultimate nightmare when it comes to gift-giving—nobody ever knows what to get me for the holidays, or even my birthday which *cough, cough* is right around the corner.
But despite never telling my friends and family exactly what it is that I want, I have a knack for ending up with all the best gear and gadgets. This is a list of my favorite travel accessories (including a few that I don't own yet), so if you're looking for the best gifts for men who travel, or even just the best gifts for men in general, these are sure to please.
1. Tortuga Outbreaker
The Tortuga Outbreaker is big enough to fit everything you need but small enough to count as carry-on. It's made of high-quality materials with water-resistant zippers, and the bag has also scrapped the traditional top-loading packing method in favor of the clamshell system. This makes it a lot easier to find what you need in a hurry. Oh, and it also has loads of pockets—including soft padded ones for your tablet and laptop.
2. ESPRO Travel Press
What to do when you need good coffee on the go? Instant coffee just won't cut it. The ESPRO Travel Press is a bonafide French press coffee maker crossed with a standard thermos. Not only do you get real coffee on the go, but it'll keep your caffeine hot for the entire day!
3. Amazon Fire TV Stick
While it may not be the first gift you think of for someone who travels, it actually couldn't be more perfect. Bring the Amazon Fire TV Stick on all your trips (it's tiny!) and watch all your favorite shows on hostel TVs or in your hotel room.
4. The Carry-On Cocktail Travel Kit
The Carry-On Cocktail Kit has all the ingredients and tools (even a mini-barspoon!) to mix up an Old Fashioned, Moscow Mule, or Gin and Tonic in flight (or before take-off, if you're feeling ambitious). Finally, the end of poorly mixed airline drinks, in a carry-on.
5. Stitch Fix Gift Card
I like to look stylish when I travel. Stitch Fix takes the fuss out of shopping—just enter your size and style preference, and you'll get pre-styled outfits, put together by a personal stylist, right at your doorstep a few days later. You only pay for the items you like and send back the ones you don't, free of charge. Just give a gift card and let him take care of the rest!
6. thisisground Tech Dopp Kit
The Tech Dopp Kit from thisisground is a game-changer when it comes to staying organized on the road. There's room to neatly put your headphones, charging cords, adapters, and anything else you might need in this bag. For smaller items, there's even a zipper pouch in the middle so you never have to worry about losing important items again. For traveling men who like their gadgets, this one's a no-brainer.
7. GoPro Hero 6 Black
The GoPro Hero 6 Black is the ultimate traveler's camera. It's wearable, waterproof, shock-proof, voice-activated, and all around durable enough to handle even the most rugged of adventures. No trip is complete without a GoPro in tow.
8. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
Books are travel gifts that never get old. Mark Manson, one of my favorite authors, describes his latest and provocatively-titled book The Art of Not Giving a F*ck as “the self-help book for people who hate self-help.” If you want a good laugh while actually getting some decent advice on bettering yourself, you'll love this book.
9. Moment Lenses
If you depend on your smartphone as your primary camera then Moment Lenses should interest you. These smartphone lenses attach to your phone using a thin metal mounting plate, and once it’s in place, you’re ready to get snapping. With wide angle, telephoto, and fisheye lenses, the results are seriously impressive, making this a perfect travel gift for men who are avid photographers.
10. “Keep Calm and Travel On” T-Shirt
We all need a reminder to stay calm once in a while…and travel solves everything, right? This t-shirt is a classic take on the one popularized by The Chive, except this one suits anybody who loves to travel. It's perfect for that tailored look under a sweater or sweatshirt, or to wear by itself with a pair of jeans.
11. Korchmar Twain Weekender Bag
My new favorite bag! For the man who wants to travel in style for the weekend without a suitcase or backpack, the Korchmar Twain Weekender Bag is ideal. The Twain is made of full grain leather and carefully handcrafted in the USA by a 100-year-old family-owned business. And the best part about this baby? It gets better with age.
12. mophie powerstation plus
I never have enough battery power left on my phone (I'm looking at you, Instagram!). The mophie powerstation plus lets me charge devices on the go up to 2.5 times, even though it's no bigger than a portable hard drive (actually, it's smaller!). This external charger makes my phone last even longer when I need it most.
13. Clearly Filtered Water Bottle
Buying bottled water is costly and bad for the environment. Especially in developing countries where the tap water isn't safe to drink, there needs to be a better solution. The Clearly Filtered Water Bottle is one of the best gifts for men who travel—it turns undrinkable tap and river water into drinkable water.
14. JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker
The JBL Flip 4 Waterproof Bluetooth Speaker is waterproof, so you can feel safe bringing it outdoors and in the water with you. You don't have to worry about plugging it anywhere, as it lasts up to twelve hours. Bring it next time you're out at the beach for a full day of your favorite music, or strap it to the outside of your backpack for some tunes while you're hiking—it fits perfectly into your water bottle holder!
15. ExOfficio Storm Logic Jacket
The ExOfficio Storm Logic Jacket is the perfect jacket for those who need warmth without the bulk. This clever coat is surprisingly lightweight, and it transforms into a travel pillow when it’s not hiding your important stuff in one of its many hidden pockets.
16. Midori Traveler's Notebook
The Midori Traveler's Notebook is so beautifully crafted you'll want to write in it every day. Its interchangeable leather-bound cover gives it that vintage feel, and for every trip, just insert a new booklet to keep your notes in. It's perfect for storing all your important documents, plus keeping track of train tickets, museum tickets, and more. You'll create lasting memories of your travels and keep them here.
17. Cord Tacos
Cord Tacos are simple in concept, but they're one of my favorite travel accessories of all. They're taco-shaped pieces of leather with a button snap to keep your headphones and other cords from getting tangled into knots. Sweet!
18. Tep Wireless Mobile WiFi Hotspot
Portable WiFi has been a game-changer for digital nomads, and the Tep portable WiFi device connects you to the internet in over 100 different countries. With Tep, you get unlimited internet at a daily rate, and you can connect up to five devices at a time! Any guy who travels won't just want one of these—he'll need it!
19. Monogrammed Flask
I never travel without my flask. It's one of those things that pretty much every guy needs, but almost no-one has, and personalizing one really makes it a special gift.
20. WorldNomads Travel Insurance
Okay, I know this isn't the sexiest gift idea, but travel insurance is the one thing nobody should skip out on. I never leave home without it. Anything can happen while you're traveling, so a protection plan from WorldNomads will help everyone sleep better at night.
A great gift combo would be the Midori Traveler's Notebook (above) with a copy of their insurance plan neatly tucked away inside! It's a great way to get someone excited about their upcoming trip.
21. Tile Sport
The Tile Sport attaches to pretty much any item (keys…even a dog’s collar!) or the slim version slides into a wallet or passport. Integrated Bluetooth allows you to ring your Tile, locate the last place you had it, or god-forbid, track it down (completely anonymously!) when it passes within range of anyone else in the Tile community. It's handy on the road or at home.
22. Jaybird X3 Bluetooth Headphones
Wireless headphones are taking over, and the Jaybird X3‘s are top of the line. They're the perfect travel gift for men with an active lifestyle, and since the sound quality is impeccable, even audiophiles will be pleased! With eight hours of battery life, these will last you the full length of an overnight bus ride!
23. Camera Lens Thermos
Getting a coffee mug as a gift can be so cliche, but not when that coffee mug looks like a legit camera lens. This one by Mango Spot is a bit quirky, but it’s cheap and cool.
24. Kindle Paperwhite
If you read books an e-reader is essential, and the Kindle Paperwhite is, without question, the best one on the market. It's touchscreen and has a 6″ 300ppi screen with a built-in light and WiFi.
I've been using Backblaze for 5+ years and can't recommend it enough. I travel far and wide, and I sleep well knowing that my data is in the cloud, protected and secured. Plus, with mobile access to backups, every bit of my data is accessible on the go. Read my full review here.
26. Roo Hammock by Kammok
The Roo Hammock by Kammok is the ultimate gift for anyone who loves to backpack. The hammock is extremely lightweight and easy to pack up in a hurry, so you can sleep anywhere.

29. The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide
The Ultimate Man’s Survival Guide is the go-to resource for men to handle any situation out in the wild, from escaping alligators to mixing the perfect martini. More than just how to do manly things, this book also discusses the definition of manliness and the true essence of being a man in today's world.
As a guy, I know that finding travel gifts for her is no easy task. I grew up surrounded by women, and every year found myself with significantly less hair after the holiday season—the months leading up to December were spent pulling my hair out, trying to decide what gifts to get for the women in my life who travel.
Since I'm still no expert (besides, who wants to read a gift guide for women written by a man?), I reached out to one of my favorite ladies (aka my sister) who offered the low-down on some of the best gifts for women who travel. These are hand-picked travel gifts for her that she will genuinely love—I promise.

2. Kiehl’s Travel Set
Every woman who travels is well acquainted with the annoyance that is liquids. You need them on the plane, but you can’t take them in your carry-on. This means pouring a splash of everything you need into tiny little containers just for the journey. The Kiehl’s travel set is a guaranteed travel gift for her that'll make life a lot easier. All of the toiletries are already packaged in 100ml containers. Airport security will be a breeze from here on out.

6. Hairstory Products
From the creator of Bumble and Bumble (trust me, she knows it, even if you don’t) comes a new line of hair products that don’t damage hair and work with her natural texture (whatever it may be), making it perfect for travel when she doesn’t have access to all sorts of styling tools.
Hairstory’s “New Wash” doesn’t suds, so it doesn’t damage her hair…which means she won’t need conditioner and she’ll have one less product in her bag. Plus, devotees who join the New Wash refill club receive a refillable 20oz container and a refillable TSA-compliant travel bottle. Hairstory for the win.
